We met Jamie and Joseph at the Bridal Fashion Debut at the Phoenix Convention Center in January. They were putting the finishing touches on their wedding planning. They thought they were all done until — they WON!
When I called Jamie to tell her she had won free piano entertainment, she wasn’t really sure what she had won. She had already picked out her venue and they had included a DJ in her package who would cover the entire ceremony and reception. What did they need live entertainment for?
After talking with Jamie a little more, I learned that two of her favorite songs were “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perry and “Best I Ever Had” by Drake. She thought “it would be so cool if my bridesmaids could walk down the aisle to A Thousand Years then the opening line of Drake could hit when I start walking down the aisle.”
The request came true, just as Jamie wanted. You can check out the custom instrumental medley I put together for Jamie here.
In addition to her particular requests, I supplied the traditional Pachelbel’s “Canon in D” as well as the wedding processional music, usually played as recorded music by a DJ, but instead played live on piano at her outside ceremony.
After the ceremony, Jamie and Joseph’s guests were entertained during cocktail hour by myself and my wife Amy, whose angelic voice filled the room.
Amy and I humbly accepted the Loehr-Ruiz family invitation to stay for the rest of their beautiful reception… We look forward to sharing a similar experience with June’s Bridal Fashion debut winner!
